How it All Started

One night in late 2022, while watching TikToks together, two friends got inspired by a video they saw on the app. The video showcased the process behind the development of a clothing brand, sparking the idea for their own brand. Inspired by the results, the two friends decided to give it a try. After struggling to find a name, they settled on “Godfroy,” which they randomly generated. In a short amount of time, they began working on their first design and their first attempt at a website. Lacking experience, generating ideas was challenging. After a while, they decided that “Godfroy” wasn’t suitable for them and opted for the name “Upbeat,” resonating with its representation of positive vibes, aligning with the brand’s message. With a new name in place, they made progress on designs and the website. However, a significant argument ensued, leading one friend to momentarily give up on the brand idea and pursue other ventures (which only lasted a few weeks). During this period, the other friend released a design on 18/04/2023, marking the brand’s first release.

The Reunion

Recognizing that individual efforts were insufficient, the other friend rejoined to help develop the brand. With everything back on track, they saw potential after the initial sales from the first drop. Determined, they intensified their efforts, communicating with manufacturers and enhancing design quality. After extensive research, they found a manufacturer within their budget and a design that satisfied them both. On 17/06/2023, “Paradise is Now” was released to great success, garnering positive reviews. However, maintaining consistency proved challenging, causing a gradual decline in attention. Following the summer break, they resolved to take the brand seriously, collaborating with manufacturers, refining their skills, and improving the website. On 18/12/2023, “DYKWYA” was released, becoming one of their most successful drops.

THE RISE

Following the success of the last release, the team was pleased with the results, garnering increased attention and positive feedback. To express appreciation, they held their first-ever giveaway, attracting more people to the Upbeat brand. Having released three different T-shirt designs, they decided to diversify and settled on full zip-ups, considering their limited accessibility and high prices. On 17/03/2024, the “UPBEAT FULL ZIP-UP” was officially launched on the Instagram page, receiving considerable attention and compliments. Recognizing the success of “DYKWYA” and the zip-up drops, they decided to continue with another release. Despite requiring significant manufacturing time and design effort, “5*” was released on 19/04/2024, becoming the most successful and recognizable release of the brand to date.
